As a perfume fanatic myself, I enjoy reading about different facts about perfume. My love for perfume began when I was still in my teens and my collection has grown so big that I had to give some away.

I love all things perfume and love to find random facts about perfume. My favorite "discount" perfume store as of now is www.luxuryperfume.com.

My favorite perfume blog is www.nstperfume.com.

The Very First Perfume Every Made! - Christian Dior

Learning and discovering different scents has always gotten my interest that's why I am now planning my first ever trip to Grasse, France, the perfume capital of the world! For today, I just have a few fun facts to share with you.

The very first perfume from Christian Dior is called 'Miss Dior' and was dedicated by Christian to his sister back in 1947. If you're wondering why he used Miss instead of Madamemoiselle, it's because he loves using English a lot.

The Perfume Capital of the World! - Grasse, France.

Grasse, France, is known as the perfume capital of the world. Since the 18th century, it has been the place to be for 'noses' or people who want to become professionally trained in distinguishing more than 2,000 kinds of scent. The smell of fresh air and flowers fill the air. The town is of high altitude and around it are hills. More than half of the world's aromas for perfume and food ae produced in Grasse.

No wonder it earns more than a 500 million euros a year and there's no stoppping this capital from producing more products for perfume collectors.

Grasse, with its abundance of greens and water, is no doubt the best place to develop products that smell good. Did you know that tons of jasmine flowers are harvested from this place every year? Jasmine is used in most perfumes in the market today. With the numerous kinds of flowers growing in the countryside, there are more scents that are being discovered and developed. It was in the 18th century when perfumery boomed in this place and it got the attention of the market. Popular characters in history are known to have spent time in Grasse, Queen Victoria, Princess Pauline Bonaparte and even Napoleon.
